Player - Character #2 - Clara the Clown
After dealing with Stan the Star we had better buoy up up a small and have got some merriment on the field.
Ah! Just what we necessitate - here's Clara the Clown. As far as she's concerned, everything is funny. With most coaches, she have to be very adroit and secretive, because if she acquires caught...! That sort of manager just can't wait to catch her in the act. As for you, you can have got got merriment with her, bask her humor, and acquire along just fine, but you have to work on it with her.
One thing in our favour is that Clara is a good clown. Nothing that she makes is meant to make any injury or to ache anybody. She "just desires to have got fun." But, the clip that she really bugs us managers is when we desire everyone to be serious. So, we're leading 4 to 3 in the last of the 7th and they have got smugglers on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out. It simply is not O.K. for Clara to be doing her buttocks the dorsum ball fast ones out in centre field while you are having a acme meeting on the mound. What Clara is doing is not a problem, but her timing is awful.
Well, Coach, this is what we name a demand for education. You have got to pass clip talking to her about when and how she can be a good clown. The major concern is whether it is appropriate in footing of state of affairs and time. Claras are good to have got around - they maintain us laughing and happy when the clip and state of affairs are right.
Example:
You are having a station game meeting and you are suggesting that there is a demand for better bunting in future games and that you will be dealing with that at the adjacent practice. Clara have a chiropteran in her manus demonstrating how to bunt behind her back. She makes have got a good response from her teammates; in fact, more than people are watching her than you.
Your feelings:
There she travels again. Doesn't she ever give it a rest? It's about clip she grew up and helped us acquire some of our of import concern done.
What you would wish to do:
Say, "Clara, cut that out. When are you going to turn up?" (This sort of irony can change the good buffoon into a awful clown.)
Try this instead:
Say, "Clara, that isn't appropriate right now. Can you assist me cover with this problem? Thanks."
You have got a full clip occupation with Clara. She necessitates a batch of support and recognition. Don't allow her get despairing and bend into that awful clown. Everyone acquires ache in that case.
But, expression at the bright side; things could be worse. You could pick up Surface-To-Air Missile the Smart Aleck and have got two buffoons on your squad competing for Team Clown. (Can you conceive of having Robin William Carlos Williams and Jim Carrey on your squad at the same time?)
Clara's Goal: Attention
She desires your attending and she will acquire it in an appropriate manner if you understand what the kinetics are and react to her in a caring, intelligent way.
