Purpura lands position with Minor League Baseball

NASHVILLE, TENN. — With the approval of the Astros' organization, former full general director Tim Purpura have accepted a occupation as executive director frailty president of Child League Baseball.

Purpura, who didn't interview for any of the general manager's places that opened this winter, received full championship from Astros proprietor Drayton McLane to seek other employment.

Moreover, his new occupation didn't change his contract position with the Astros.

Although Purpura was fired in August, his Astros' contract runs through 2008.

"He had an apprehension with Drayton, and we wish him well," said Astros president of baseball game trading operations Tal Smith. "I believe it's an ideal role. It have no bearing on his contract (with the Astros)."

Purpura was the Astros' farm director and helper full general manager when he was promoted to gram in November 2004.
